Triple Depth: Day 2: CWT

Day two at the Triple Depth competition was.....interesting and had a bit of drama. Today was the constant weight (CWT) competition. Again there were a few National records, a few personal bests but mostly there were happy faces regardless of the atheletes' performances.
Agata missed the tag but her dive looked comfortable and she had a smile as she passed on her way back in. Betti set a NR for Switzerland of 53m and was smiles all the way, a much happier Betti than yesterday
The interesting part of today is reportedly missing tags....apparently either a rather cunning and jealous competitor or a mischievous fish has been stealing the tags from the bottom plate. John Daines came up with no tag saying that he looked hard but there was no tag for him, poor John got a yellow card but it was later recognised as a clean dive to the depth of 65m. Alexey who ended the day with a 90m dive came up saying that he dived down 1m under the bottom plate to try to find a tag!!!!
The drama came from Roman who did a strong descent but on the ascent started to slow, as he came to 15m he weakened and came up with a blackout. Linda and Dean were there already anticipating this and he came to in a few seconds. This is a prime example of how we don't remember BO's: As he came to he went back into the last seconds of his dive, he straightened up and became streamlined did a monofin kick then grabbed the rope and went into the surface protocol, turning to Lotta and claiming that he was O.K. There were a few giggles but only because it is amusing when the body does this. We were all happy that he was indeed alright and returned to a picture of health fairly rapidly.
Matt set a great NR for Poland with a fantastic 80m dive, he came up, missed the line because of his deranged vision through his fluid goggles, but quickly found it and clung on to finish his surface protocol.
Wendy did a very relaxed dive to set a new NR 60m for Holland, her dive was a joy to watch and she came up with a smile. Nice dive Wendy and well done.
So now all eyes are focused on tomorrow's day of constant weight no fins, all the best to all competitors and we are looking forward to some more outstanding performances.
