The judges' cards: red, yellow and whiteAfter all the confusion about Insurances, AIDA ranking status and the main sponsor, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, jumping off the band wagon, it has finally happened. The Andaman AIDA Freediving Challenge 2010  proceeded from Feb 10th - 12th, being one of the few competitions that actually combine all official AIDA competition disciplines in one event. And the results are out!

Richard and Sarah on the Blue Planet Divers' boat Ja!

Day three of Triple depth and most athletes were looking tired and this being one of the most intensive disciplines, the constant weight no fins (CNF).

There were six new national records set, Agata did a lovely dive down to 36m to collect a NR for Poland, a good end to her first ever competition. Wendy did what looked like the most relaxed and effortless dive she has ever performed, you know she is one those rare people that make it all look so easy. She came up with the tag from 45m and so a NR for Holland. Jarmila set a NR for Czech Republic 52m, Jana from Canada set a NR of 53m but had awful lot of blood from her nose to show for it.

Day two at the Triple Depth competition was.....interesting and had a bit of drama. Today was the constant weight (CWT) competition. Again there were a few National records, a few personal bests but mostly there were happy faces regardless of the atheletes' performances.

Agata missed the tag but her dive looked comfortable and she had a smile as she passed on her way back in. Betti set a NR for Switzerland of 53m and was smiles all the way, a much happier Betti than yesterday Smile
