O A plate with bacon and eggs h, yes! We have bacon and eggs for breakfast now!

Yesterday we arrived tired but well at Bangkok airport and after a mere 5 hours at the cargo terminal were even able to receive our bikes. In the process we created about 30 pages of paperwork, six of which being countersigned photocopies of my passport. A bit of a drag, when You've had about 1½ hours of sleep on the plane. But with the help of the very helpful staff, George from the hotel that we booked our first nights in and a couple of thousand Baht, we managed to bring everything home. As far as I can tell so far, anyway. We haven't unpacked the boxes yet, and mine has been opened. But I trust it'll be fine.

We'va already had our first little stroll into the neighbourhood and some food in one of the many street-side restaurants and, yes, it is as good as I remember and was hoping for. Yum Yum Yum!

The sheer amount of life that is everywhere here is just stunning when you come from living in the desert. All is lush and green, and behind the coconut tree and bushes and grass, we even have a little pond right in front of our room! At night, there are critters squeaking, croaking, singing and rustling everywhere and it is so wonderful to know that so many things live here. It is quite surprising actually that the above mentioned stroll actually took us anywhere, with Sarah having a thing for little creatures. It must have been sheer hunger that kept her from stopping every two metres and saying hello to every single gekko, cat, dog, bird, younameit we encountered. Talking of birds - they actually keep a couple of hens here at the hotel and we strongly suspect that the darn good eggs we got were a mere couple of hours old. Such is the hardship we endure here... Note to self: Don't ship bikes as cargo into Thailand - not cheaper than excess luggage and so much more time-consuming.
