Ropes and kit all ready for the training tomorrow It has officially begun, all teams signed in and photos taken.....lots of photos :) It is great to see some of the new faces of freediving and also athletes who have done this before as well as some famous faces of freediving.

We started with the athletes' registration where passports and medical certificates were checked, then outside we were all introduced to the organisers of the competition and the teams of the following countries: Finland, Japan, Russia, USA, Canada, Denmark, Norway, Great Britain, Germany, France, New Zealand, Czech Republic.

Tomorrow will be warm up day for the Constant Weight (CWT) competition which is scheduled to be held on 3rd July. So it be an early start for some that involves a 45 minute transfer from the official hotel to the port and a short boat ride out to the warm up lines. So we wait and see what tomorrow brings, hopefully everything will run smoothly. But if not then I am sure that the diligent Japanese organisers will iron out any problems, they appear to be making every effort to make sure that they firmly establish Asia as being part of the mainstream Freediving scene. Richard and I will do our best at turning out safe and educated freedivers from Asia too and hope to see many more competitions around this side of the world.

Here are some impressions of the day:
